Several C. J. Hooker Middle School students were honored as the November Students of the Month. The Student of the Month is:
- Respectful – The student treats classmates, teachers and staff with respect by valuing each as an individual, respecting differences, and valuing the work that others do.
- Responsible – The student embraces the responsibility required to maintain progress in their schoolwork and other personal goals.
- Positive – The student contributes to the success of the school by promoting a positive school climate through their actions and words.
- Honest – The student communicates truthfully and in a respectful way with classmates, teachers, staff and refrains from dishonesty in completing academic work.
- Committed to success – The student strives for success in all they do and works to the best of their ability.
Grade 6
Lexi O’Connell is an amazing member of the Yellow Team! She is kind to everyone, always willing to help, and brings a bright, positive energy to our classrooms. Lexi participates every day and works hard in everything she does. Her kindness and effort make our team a better place for all of us. We are proud to recognize Lexi as our Student of the Month!

Charles Lucas approaches every assignment with genuine effort, pushing himself to do his best and showing perseverance when tasks become challenging. He adds to classroom discussions by asking thoughtful questions when he needs clarification, setting a positive example for his peers. Charlie treats others with kindness and is always willing to assist a classmate. Congratulations to our Student of the Month!
Rohan Fortugno-Harris is an outstanding student who consistently chooses to do the right thing and sets a positive example for those around him. He is always willing to help his peers, whether by offering guidance, encouragement, or quietly stepping in when someone needs support. Rohan’s kindness, reliability, and strong sense of integrity make him a true role model in our classroom. We are proud to recognize him as our Student of the Month.
Citlaly Martinez has shown a great deal of growth as a student since September. She is hard working and wants to do well. She is sweet and caring and often helps her peers. Citlaly always has a smile on her face and has a positive attitude. Congratulations Citlaly!
Special Areas:
Leilani Salce is a wonderful choir student whose enthusiasm shines in every rehearsal. She brings a positive spirit, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to grow that inspires everyone around them. Her voice adds something special to the group, and her dedication makes the choir stronger every day.
Grade 7
Andrew Rodiles – Although Andrew is new to Goshen, he has already made a lasting impression on teachers and classmates alike. From the very first day, he has demonstrated what it means to be a positive and engaged student. Andrew shows respect by listening attentively, treating others with kindness, and contributing thoughtfully in class. Andrew also exhibits a strong sense of responsibility by completing assignments on time, thus setting a positive example for peers. Congratulations on being selected as a November Student of the Month, Andrew, and welcome to Goshen!
Rand Alsayes Rand is an exceptional young woman. She is wise beyond her years, and it shows in the mature way she carries herself. As a student and a classmate, she is responsible, cooperative, patient, and kind. Rand is personable and a pleasure to be around. We feel very lucky to have her in our classes and as a part of the team this year. Congratulations, Rand, and thank you for always setting such a good example for others!

Yoseph Ghaly Yoseph shows up to class every day ready to work. He is respectful to his classmates and teachers. Yoseph is consistently polite and goes out of his way to use his manners in class.
Special Areas:
Remi Pedrosa arrives to class each day with an upbeat attitude that energizes everyone around her. Her strong work ethic and enthusiasm for learning are truly contagious, inspiring her classmates to give their best. Remi shows genuine care for others, always making sure everyone feels welcome and supported. She is quick to offer a helping hand to anyone in need and consistently leads by example. Her self-motivation and commitment to excellence make her a valued role model and a shining star in the classroom.
Grade 8
William Arteaga is an attentive, engaged, creative and diligent student. He is polite, kind and courteous and a positive influence and model for the students around him. He demonstrates both academic and emotional intelligence and maturity that is beyond his years. Will relates well to adults and his peers, works well with other students, and demonstrates a positive attitude at all times. He is supportive of others and an excellent advocate for himself, always working hard to achieve his best. Will is a quiet leader who sets an excellent example.
Tyler Mayo is a kind, attentive, and cooperative student who always arrives in class with a positive attitude and a readiness to learn. Tyler works well with his classmates, participates in class discussions, and is always willing to lend a helping hand. His diligence, respect for others, and commitment to success serve as a positive example for others to follow.
Massimo Mastroserio – Massimo is a very hard working student who always tries his best on every assignment given to him. Massimo is always willing to participate in class and is enthusiastic in every lesson. He is very supportive of his classmates and becomes concerned if they are upset or struggling. His kind hearted nature and strong work ethic is why we have picked him as student of the month.
Special Areas:
Haley McGuire is an outstanding student and member of the CJH Music Program. She is in Chorus, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Lab Band. Although her main instrument is flute, Haley has learned both the saxophone and mallet percussion and plays them in various ensembles. Haley’s willingness to overcome new challenges cements her as a role model in the program!
