New York State is proposing changes to its athletics regulations for:
- Mixed Competition: Male and female student athletes playing the same sport on the same team in the same season, and
- Placement Process: The process for 7th and 8th grade modified student athletes to move up to the junior varsity or varsity level.
The proposal is in the 60-day comment period and the state is requesting feedback and comments from state residents until July 22.
