“Kindness is the golden chain by which society is bound together.”
A single link can join with another link, until an entire chain is made, evident by the number of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members who worked together to make the high school’s Kindness Cart come to fruition.
The Goshen High School Kindness Club celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration for its Kindness Cart on May 4.
Students in Charles Doyle’s class built and painted the Kindness Cart, with the assistance of STEAM Teacher Joseph Fedor, and created Goshen Gear and other swag items in collaboration with STEAM Teacher Dillon Johnson and Family and Consumer Science Teacher Elizabeth Gannon.
Kindness Club members were supported by a generous donation from the Goshen Alumni Association, and were joined by Susan Armistead of Goshen $5 Challenge, Deb Heppes, Deputy Superintendent of Orange-Ulster BOCES, Stacey Orzell, Choose Love Ambassador, Superintendent Dr. Kurtis Kotes, Assistant Superintendent Jason Carter, Pupil Personnel Director Dr. Heather Hendershot, Goshen High School Principal Nicholas Pantaleone, and several family members and school faculty and staff to celebrate this wonderful occasion. Attendees enjoyed delicious muffins prepared by students in Family and Consumer Science Teacher Lisa Dombrowski’s first period Foods class.
The Kindness Cart will be open weekly on Mondays and Fridays during 4th period at Goshen High School.
