Effective January 1, 2026, both of Goshen’s elementary schools now have a full-time assistant principal on staff.
Erica Cruz, who has served as assistant principal for both Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School and Goshen Intermediate School since September 2023, has transitioned to the role of full-time assistant principal at Goshen Intermediate School.
Lina Polchinski is now the the full-time assistant principal at Scotchtown Elementary School. She previously served as assistant director of Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) and has been with the district since September 2024.
To ensure continuity within PPS, Lea Morganstein will move from part- to full-time for the remainder of the 2025–26 school year. Morganstein served the district in a part-time capacity as a CSE/CPSE/504 chairperson and has previously worked as a substitute administrator and interim assistant director of PPS.
“Having a full-time assistant principal in each elementary building will strengthen daily operations and enhance support for students, staff, and families,” Interim Superintendent Thomas Bongiovi said. “We appreciate the continued support of our school community as these changes take effect.”
