Goshen High School welcomes students back for the 2025-26 school year

Dear Students,

It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year! The start of a new year is always filled with energy, anticipation, and opportunity. Whether you are returning to familiar hallways or joining us for the first time, we are eager to see all of the amazing things you will accomplish this year.

Please take a few moments to carefully review the important information below as you prepare for the opening of school:

First Day of School

  • Our first day of classes will be Wednesday, September 3.
  • The school day will begin promptly at 7:27 a.m. and follow a nine-period schedule, with dismissal at 2:17 p.m.
  • Please arrive with enough time to enter the building, check in at the front entrance, and get settled before the first bell rings.

Student ID Cards

  • Student ID’s will be checked each morning at the front entrance. Please have your ID ready as you enter the building each day.
  • Freshmen/New Students will receive their ID cards during the Freshmen/New Student BBQ.

Personal Devices

  • In order to maintain a learning-focused environment, students may not use internet-enabled devices during the school day.
  • This includes all classes, homeroom periods, lunch, recess, study halls, and passing times while on school grounds.
  • Devices must be silenced and stored in your locker upon arrival to school and should remain there until dismissal at 2:17 p.m.

Lockers

  • You can find your locker number and combination by logging into the Parent Portal (SchoolTool) and clicking on the “Personal Information” section of your schedule.
  • To view your locker combination, hover over the green lock icon on the page.
  • Be sure to set aside time before the first day to check this information so you are ready when you arrive.

Transportation & Arrival

  • Student Parking: Students who wish to drive to school must have a designated parking pass issued by the Athletic Office. Parking is a privilege, and passes must be displayed at all times. Students are expected to drive safely on school premises at all times.
  • Punctuality: Please arrive on time each and every day. Arriving promptly ensures a smooth start to classes and helps maintain a positive learning environment.

Parent Drop-Off

  • Parents dropping off students should use the student parking lot area and pull all the way down to allow for a smooth traffic pattern.
  • There will be signage for directional purposes and personnel present to assist in the daily drop off.
  • Your cooperation will help us keep traffic flowing safely and efficiently.

Attendance & Absences

  • Daily Attendance Matters: Being in school each day is one of the most important factors in student success. Please make every effort to attend on time, every day.
  • Tardiness: Students who arrive late must sign in at the main office before reporting to class. Frequent tardiness disrupts learning and may result in disciplinary action.
  • Early Dismissals: If you need to leave school early, a parent/guardian must provide written permission in advance and you must sign out at the main office.

First Day Checklist

To help you start the year smoothly, here are a few items to bring with you on the first day:

✔ Student ID (or be ready to receive one at orientation if you are a freshman)

✔ Printed or digital copy of your class schedule

✔ Backpack with basic supplies (pens, pencils, notebooks, etc.)

✔ Charged Chromebook or school-issued device (to be used when permitted in class)

✔ Refillable water bottle

✔ Positive attitude and readiness to learn

A Strong Start

The first days of school are an important opportunity to set the tone for the year ahead. By coming prepared, respecting school expectations, and supporting one another, we will build a positive and successful year together.

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I want to thank you for your cooperation and commitment to our school community. We are confident that this will be a year of growth, achievement, and memorable experiences for all of our students.

We can’t wait to welcome you on Wednesday, September 3, at 7:27 a.m. Let’s make this a year to remember!

Warmly,

Nick Pantaleone, Principal
