Goshen Odyssey of the Mind Teams Excel at World Finals

The Goshen Odyssey of the Mind teams delivered outstanding performances at this year’s World Finals, showcasing months of creativity, collaboration, and commitment on an international stage.

Team Losee, coached by Rachel Losee, placed an outstanding 4th out of 54 teams in their division. Their success reflects an incredible five-year Odyssey of the Mind journey together. Throughout that time, the team challenged themselves by competing in all five Odyssey of the Mind problem categories, building strong skills in creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. Their fourth-place finish at World Finals marks a meaningful and memorable conclusion to their time together, as this was their final year as a team

Team Seligman also achieved an impressive result, earning 7th place out of 61 teams in their division for long-term and style scores. Despite being newly formed this year, the team demonstrated exceptional dedication, hard work, and teamwork that led to success in their first season competing together. Team Seligman was coached by Heidi Seligman, with support from dedicated high school student volunteers: assistant coach Carly Seligman, Brooke Florio, Jordan Seligman, and Nathan Hulse.

A special recognition was awarded to Carly Seligman, a high school senior and assistant coach, who received the Creative Opportunities Visionary Scholarship at World Finals. Carly submitted a video reflecting on the moment Odyssey of the Mind “clicked” for her. She was honored during a ceremony at World Finals and expressed gratitude for the recognition. Carly plans to serve as an Odyssey of the Mind judge in the future and is now part of the Odyssey Alumni community.
