Hard Work Pays Off: Goshen Honors College-Bound Athletes on Signing Day


GOSHEN, NY — Goshen Athletics recognized student-athletes who will continue their academic and athletic careers at colleges and universities. This celebration is known as Signing Day. Family members, friends, coaches, teachers, peers, and others attend the event to honor the athletes’ achievements.

Being a student-athlete is about more than medals; it requires day-in and day-out hard work, discipline, and resilience, along with many early mornings and late nights. The Goshen Central School District would like to thank its student-athletes, as well as their families and supporters, whose sacrifices have helped make these students’ dreams a reality.

High School is proud to recognize the following seniors who will continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level:

Sean Connell will attend Widener University (Division III) to play soccer while studying Sport Management.

Drew Gilbert will attend Plymouth State University (Division III), where he will compete in cross country and study Meteorology.

Jimmy Kelly will attend Army West Point (Division I) to play basketball. He is currently undecided on a major.

Caleb McCarty will attend Russell Sage College (Division III), participating in cross country and track and field while studying Physical Education.

Isabella N. will attend Niagara University (Division I) as a member of the golf team and will study Accounting.

Zadan Thomas will attend Dominican University (Division II), competing in track and field while pursuing Biology/Pre-Veterinary studies.

Izabella Felix will attend Mount Saint Mary College (Division III), where she will play volleyball and study Nursing.

Kylah Demers will attend Bard College (Division III) to play volleyball while majoring in Psychology with a concentration in Forensics.

Ryan FitzPatrick will attend the University at Albany (Division I) to play football and study Computer Science with a specialization in Cybersecurity.

Stephen Kovacs will attend the University at Albany (Division I) to play baseball while studying Human Biology.

Briana Alfieri will attend the University of Hartford (Division III), where she will compete in lacrosse and study Business.

Matthew Tondini will attend Franklin Pierce University (Division II) to play golf while majoring in Finance.
