Earlier this morning, a water main break occurred near the Main Street building, resulting in approximately two inches of water in portions of the building, including the Business Office area and nearby offices. The Boardroom was also affected to a lesser extent.
Buildings and Grounds employees have responded promptly, removing most of the water, and the district will be coordinating with a professional cleanup company. Repairs to the water main are underway.
Main Street staff are working remotely today, and Orange-Ulster BOCES student programming has been adjusted as needed. The district is assessing next steps, including the possibility of temporarily relocating staff.
We will continue to keep the community informed as more information becomes available.
