The Goshen Varsity Cheerleading team is building on an extraordinary season, earning a first-place finish in Section IX with a flawless, zero-deduction routine that received the highest score in Goshen history and the highest score across all divisions at the competition.
This marks the team’s second consecutive Section IX championship and their second year competing in the highly competitive coed division, where they have quickly established themselves as a dominant force.
Throughout the season, the team has delivered standout performances, capturing three Grand Champion titles for the highest overall competition scores and repeatedly achieving rare zero-deduction routines. Their success has been matched across the program, as the Modified and Junior Varsity teams have also delivered exceptional performances. Goshen achieved a full program sweep at Valley Central’s Viking Pride Cheerleading Competition, with all three teams earning first place. Additionally, both the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams secured first-place finishes and zero-deduction routines at the Monroe-Woodbury Winter Cheer Classic.
The Varsity team will compete for the state title at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Championship on March 8 in Binghamton, representing Goshen with pride, precision, and a season of remarkable accomplishments.
