GHS Blanket Nation Makes Donations to the Humane Society of Middletown

Seniors Jean Luc Gautier and Joe Gatto recently delivered donations of Blankets, Toys and Bandanas to the Humane Society of Middletown.  Both young men are members and officers of Blanket Nation and have been with the club since its inception in 2023.  Blanket Nation is a club that was founded by senior Julian Pucci and advisor Lori Paulus. Originally Blanket Nation made and donated their blankets to Project Linus.  Project Linus is a not for profit organization that’s mission is “to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new handmade blankets.”

Although Blanket Nation maintains their support and donations to Project Linus the students of Blanket Nation wanted to branch out and help more organizations that were in need.  Recently they created knit hats for Nyack Hospital’s NICU department and when they became aware of the need for donations at the Middletown Humane Society they decided to step up and help them as well.

Blanket Nation offers community service hours for the students that are members.  All are welcome to join.  Blanket Nation is funded by bake sales and private donations of anti pill fleece material and yarn.  Any and all donations are welcomed!
