GHS wrestlers place at Section IX Championships, finish season with 21-13 record

Congratulations to the Goshen wrestlers who placed at the end-of-season Section IX Wrestling Championships.

  • Sophomore Evan Weeden placed 6th, a two-time All-Section wrestler before his junior year.
  • His brother, Senior Danny Weeden won 4th place with 37 wins for his second All-Section honor.
  • Senior Jacob Perales won 4th place, capping off his career with 116 career varsity wins– the third all-time record in Gladiator Wrestling history!

The Varsity Wrestling Team finished with a 21-13 overall record (4-1 League).

  • Michael Lombardi ties a school record with a 5 second pin at Mount Markham Mustang Duals! (Joe Papasidero ’98) 
  • 2023-24 will mark the third consecutive year that the Varsity Wrestling Team will be recognized as a Scholar Team by NYSPHSAA for having an overall team average above a 90%
  • JV Wrestling Team places team 3rd at the JV Section IX Championships!
