Students in Claire Polanis’ Latin classes at Goshen High School were recently honored for their outstanding performances on the 2023 National Latin Exam.
The National Latin Exam (NLE) is a test given annually to Latin students across the United States and around the world. According to the NLE website, the exam is not meant to be a competition but rather an opportunity for students to receive reinforcement and recognition for their accomplishments in the classroom. Depending upon their score, students may earn certificates, medals, and may even qualify for scholarships. The 40-question exam is administered to students around the world, including Australia, Italy, Japan, France and Zimbabwe.
According to Polanis, their dedication in this endeavor helped to shine a positive light on the academic pursuits and achievements of students in the study of World Language.
Congratulations to Isabella Scanlon, Jacqueline Garcia, Valeria Espinosa, Robert Schmitt, and Thomas Tedeschi.
