Goshen Intermediate School students Emily Garbutt and Nathan Vaughan were named grand prize winners in the Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) of Orange County’s annual substance abuse prevention poster contest.

Emily is the grand prize winner of the grades 1-6 Spanish poster category, while Nathan is the grand prize winner of the grades 1-6 English poster category.

The students were surprised with an assembly in their honor on March 8 where their winning artwork was showcased in a slideshow. They were visited by ADAC Prevention Coordinators MaryAlice Kovatch and Justine Schwab, as well as Lauren Savino, Orange County STOP DWI & Traffic Safety Program Educator.

Both Emily and Nathan will be honored at ADAC’s award ceremony on May 12.
