At its most recent meeting, the Board of Education approved the district’s new partnership with Atlas Security Services Inc. of Goshen.
The Goshen Central School District welcomed six uniformed security guards from Atlas Security Services beginning today, Monday, March 6. Two security guards will be assigned to the C. J. Hooker Middle School and four will be assigned to Goshen High School. Security guards will also be available to the elementary school buildings on an as-needed basis.
Atlas security guards are uniformed and unarmed. According to the Atlas Security Services Inc. website, security guards go through extensive pre-employment screening and background checks, and undergo in-house training programs and state-mandated courses. The Atlas security guards will work closely with the district’s school resource officers to help ensure a safe, welcoming, and healthy environment for our students and employees.
