Tarunya Balmurali, Luther Fortugno-Harris win CJH spelling bee

Luther Fortugno-Harris and Tarunya Balmurali will represent the C. J. Hooker Middle School at the Orange-Ulster Spelling Bee in March.

On Feb. 8, the C. J. Hooker Middle School held its school-wide spelling bee for seventh and eighth graders.

Luther Fortugno-Harris, grade 7, and Tarunya Balmurali, grade 8, both won their grade-level bees and will represent their school during the Orange-Ulster Spelling Bee on March 16.

Luther’s winning word was maneuverable, and Tarunya’s winning word was insinuation.
