Board appoints new SAS principal, GHS assistant principal

The Board of Education has appointed Kristin Driscoll as principal of Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School and Denise Tzouganatos as assistant principal (10 month position) at Goshen High School.

Driscoll comes to Goshen with years of experience as an elementary school principal; she led the Setauket School of Three Village Central School District on Long Island from July 2016 to June 2019, and then the Brinckerhoff Elementary School at the Wappingers Central School District from July 2019 to present.

Throughout her career in education, she held the positions of assistant principal, English Language Arts Summer Program Coordinator, kindergarten teacher, fifth grade teacher, and Academic Intervention Services reading teaching assistant. She will begin as principal on July 15.

Tzouganatos is no stranger to Goshen Schools, having held leave replacement positions at Goshen High School and C. J. Hooker Middle School in chemistry and biology. She returns to Goshen after serving as both chemistry and biology teachers at Washingtonville School District since January 2013.

Prior to teaching, Tzouganatos worked as a chemist and held numerous leadership positions within pharmaceuticals and consumer healthcare companies. She will begin her position as assistant principal on September 1.
