Dear Goshen families,
We are pleased to announce that the Goshen Central School District received notification from the New York State Education Department that funding was included in the 2021-22 budget to support Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) in our district.
We will be offering 20 UPK seats for the 2021-22 school year. This is a new opportunity for our district and we are finalizing the planning to begin the UPK program in September 2021.
We are partnering with On My Way Early Learning & Childcare Center located at 12 Riverside Drive in Middletown. The UPK program will run five days a week and will be a full-day program, operating from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. (time subject to change). Parents are responsible for transportation. There will be no cost for families, as this program is fully funded by the grant and the general fund.
To be eligible, you must be a current resident of the Goshen Central School District and your child must turn age four (4) on or before December 1, 2021. Eligible students will be selected to participate via lottery.
If you are interested in having your eligible child participate in the Goshen UPK Program at On My Way Early Learning & Childcare Center for the 2021-22 school year, please complete the pre-registration form by 3 p.m. August 20. The purpose of this pre-registration process is to indicate your interest in the UPK Program and to ensure that your child is included in the lottery that will take place on Monday, August 23, for the available seats in the program. Following the lottery, parents will be notified of their child’s acceptance and provided with an official enrollment packet. Details to follow.
