Congratulations, March 2021 Students of the Month

The student of the month is:

  • Respectful – The student treats classmates, teachers and staff with respect by valuing each as an individual, respecting differences, and valuing the work that others do.
  • Responsible – The student embraces the responsibility required to maintain progress in their schoolwork and other personal goals.
  • Positive – The student contributes to the success of the school by promoting a positive school climate through their actions and words.
  • Honest – The student communicates truthfully and in a respectful way with classmates, teachers, staff and refrains from dishonesty in completing academic work.
  • Committed to success – The student strives for success in all they do and works to the best of their ability.

Grade 6

Giovanna Citriniti- It is our pleasure to select Giovanna Citriniti for student of the month!  Giovanna has worked hard since the beginning of the school year.  She always shows up on time for every class, and is ready to learn.  Even though she is working remotely, she brings her game every day!  Giovanna is very kind, friendly and happy.  She is a positive role model for all!  Keep up the great work, Giovanna!

Finn McCarthy is a kind, hardworking, respectful student who comes to class prepared and ready to learn.  Finn is always on task and consistently puts forth his best effort. Although quiet in nature, he is a strong and positive presence in our class. It is our pleasure to select Finn for student of the month!

Jonathan LaBush has displayed excellent academic focus and effort in all his classes. He is a wonderful young adult.  Jonathan is an extremely responsible student. He has excellent participation in class and his positive nature adds to our learning environment.  He is kind towards others and is an exemplary student.  It is a pleasure to recognize Jonathan as student of the month!

Emily Loftus – Emily is a hard worker. She is friendly and kind to her classmates. Emily always has a positive attitude in school and always has a smile on her face. She puts her best foot forward every day and tries her best.

Special Areas:

Gwendolyn Warland – Gwen is an exceptional student. She is always on time and eager to learn. Gwen asks really thoughtful questions and always participates in class discussions. She tries really hard and it shows in her art. Her art continues to improve as she gets feedback and applies what she learns to her work. She definitely deserves student of the month for her continued success.

Grade 7

Colby Bridges is a bright, funny, and kind young man.  Colby always tries his best and comes to class each day with a smile and an enthusiastic attitude.  He is respectful to everyone, both classmates and teachers.  Colby is also super helpful and willing to troubleshoot and assist with any problems that may arise, especially ones that are technology-related. He is also great at managing his time and staying on top of his work and other responsibilities.  Colby sets high standards for himself and works hard to achieve his goals, which is quite admirable and shows great maturity for someone his age.  Congratulations to Colby!  We are very proud of you!

Francesca Zuccaro is a helpful, thoughtful and observant young lady. Francesca is on-time and an engaged learner; she is an attentive listener, carefully follows directions, and someone who truly appreciates feedback. It is clear that Francesca has a diligent work ethic, both when she is learning remotely and in-person.  Qualities such as these showcase her goal-oriented nature.  Francesca is doing a fantastic job, which has earned her the title of one of March’s Student of the Month! Nice job, Francesca!  Keep up the great work!

Matthew Barnable- Since returning to school in person, Matthew has completely turned his school year around!  Matthew has put forth his best effort and has made major improvements.  Matthew is kind and thoughtful and we see examples of this every day! We are more than proud to nominate Matthew Barnable for student of the month!  Great job Matthew!

Special Areas:

Roger Bautista – Roger always shows up with a pleasant attitude, participates willingly, shares ideas (and screens!) with eagerness and brings great energy to the classroom. He is respectful of everyone and is deserving of this honor!

Grade 8

Meghan Doody is an ambitious, highly capable, and diligent student who goes above and beyond and is relentless in her pursuit of excellence.  She is a conscientious student who takes the initiative to find ways to improve both her grades and her understanding. Meghan is receptive to feedback and seeks clarification as needed to ensure she is achieving her best.  She is inclusive of all students and generates an aura of positivity and friendliness wherever she goes.  She is caring, considerate, and always attentive whether helping a friend or working with an adult.  All of these characteristics will allow Meghan to achieve anything on which she sets her heart and mind.

Katie Palau is a respectful, kind, and hardworking student.  She comes to class with a positive attitude, is an active participant in meets, and completes her assignments on time.  She consistently puts forth her best effort and is a pleasure to have in class.  Congratulations Katie!

Jasmin Fierros is a kindhearted and hardworking student.  She has been diligent about completing her work both remotely and in-person.  Jasmin is an active class participant, always giving her best effort and consistently displaying a positive attitude, too!

Special Areas:

Kiran Foster – Kiran goes above and beyond when completing performance projects and is a great role model for others in class. In addition to his outstanding performance in class, Kiran is preparing to participate in NYSSMA’s solo festival. Good luck to Kiran and we are so proud of you!
