Two students test positive for COVID-19

District officials were notified that a Goshen Intermediate School student and a Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School student have tested positive for COVID-19.

The GIS student has not been in the building since March 25 and contact tracing is not required; there is no risk of exposure. The SAS student was last in the building on April 8. All those who may be at risk of exposure have been contacted by district staff with instructions on self-quarantine.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

Remember that we can help stop the spread by following the guidance of the Orange County Department of Health, including washing your hands with soap and water, avoiding gatherings and group activities, and staying home when you are sick.

Join me in wishing a speedy recover to all of our unwell family members.

Sincerely,

Daniel T. Connor
Superintendent of Schools
