View information about visiting spectators at athletic events

Dear Gladiator Nation,

As the district previously announced, Section IX Athletics and the Orange County Dept. of Health will permit two spectators per athlete at all Section IX outdoor athletic events. Unfortunately, spectators at indoor events will not be permitted during the Fall II season.

On or around March 8, Goshen athletes will receive two tickets to distribute to whomever they choose to attend an outdoor athletic event. Spectators must have a ticket to attend.

In addition, Goshen will also allow two spectators per athlete for all visiting teams. It is up to the individual school districts whether or not to permit visiting spectators at its athletic contests. At this time, districts that will allow two visiting spectators per athlete include:

● Cornwall
● Kingston
● Minisink
● Monticello
● Port Jervis
● Seward
● Valley Central
● Warwick
● Washingtonville

*Please note that this list can change at any time.

To say that I am grateful and excited for our Fall II season would be a huge understatement. I’d like to thank the many people who have come together to make this season possible. I look forward to seeing our student-athletes back in action and our parents and guardians back in the stands again. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Go, Gladiators!

Sincerely, Matthew O’Brien, Ed. D.
Director of Athletics, Health, and Physical Education
