Fall athletics season begins March 1

It is with great excitement that we, as a school community, get set for a March 1st start date to our fall athletic programs. Having been given the necessary approvals from New York State and the Orange County Department of Health, we are cleared to resume both low, moderate and high-risk sports for the fall season. Starting on March 1 and ending roughly on April 16, we are proud to offer the following fall athletic programs:

●     Modified, JV and Varsity Football

●     Modified, JV and Varsity Girls Soccer

●     Modfied, JV and Varsity Boys Soccer

●     Modified and Varsity Cross Country

●     Modified, JV and Varsity Volleyball

●     JV and Varsity Girls Tennis

●     Modified, JV and Varsity Cheerleading

●     Varsity Girls Swimming and Diving

As always, any student-athlete interested in participating in any of the above programs must be registered via the school’s online registration platform, FamilyID.  Also on our school website you will find a link to the contact information for our fall coaches. I encourage you to reach out to your child’s coach with any specific questions you may have.

Please know we will continue to operate under the latest guidelines and protocols set forth by the Orange County Department of Health including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), social distancing, disinfecting and sanitizing guidelines, daily screenings, temperature checks, and more.

As it stands currently, spectators are not permitted at any interscholastic contests as per the ruling of Section IX. While the district continues to advocate for spectators at its home athletic contests, you will be made aware of any changes to this rule as we move forward.

After much speculation about the possibility of fall sports being played in this unprecedented school year, it is with gratitude and appreciation that we make the final preparations for this upcoming season.

As always, please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. And of course, Go, Gladiators!

Gratefully,

Matthew O’Brien
