Dear Goshen Schools family,
I know I speak on the behalf of many when I say that I am grateful and excited to see our student-athletes compete over the next few months. Thank you all for your patience and support.
As you are likely aware, spectators are prohibited at school athletic competitions as per the officials at Section IX. I realize this news is disappointing to the Goshen Schools family, but we must adhere to these regulations in order to ensure the health and safety of our athletes.
However, I am pleased to announce that the district has established a partnership with Play On Sports! and the National Federation of State High School Associations in order to livestream our home athletic competitions at Goshen High School for basketball, wrestling, football, volleyball, soccer and lacrosse.
This professional, high-quality livestream will use the Pixellot camera system that allows viewers to log in and watch our home games from anywhere. In addition, student-athletes will be able to send game films to colleges and college-level scouts, and it will provide the members of the Goshen Sports Media Club, created for students interested in pursuing a career in sports media and broadcasting, with valuable resources and experience.
I am also pleased to announce that this subscription-based service will be provided free of charge to the Goshen Schools community for the duration of the 2020-21 athletic season. Our hope is that spectators will be permitted in the stands again soon – if not this year, then during 2021-22. Either way, our plan is to offer this service next year as well, although there will be a minimal subscription fee at that time. More details will be shared as we enter next school year’s athletic season.
