CJH names Students of the Month for December 2020

The student of the month is:

  • Respectful – The student treats classmates, teachers and staff with respect by valuing each as an individual, respecting differences, and valuing the work that others do.
  • Responsible – The student embraces the responsibility required to maintain progress in their schoolwork and other personal goals.
  • Positive – The student contributes to the success of the school by promoting a positive school climate through their actions and words.
  • Honest – The student communicates truthfully and in a respectful way with classmates, teachers, staff and refrains from dishonesty in completing academic work.
  • Committed to success – The student strives for success in all they do and works to the best of their ability.

Alex Moran

Alex Moran: We are proud to select Alex as student of the month. Alex comes to school ready to learn.  He is always kind and respectful to all. He is a leader among his peers! Alex always displays a positive attitude, and puts his best effort into everything that he does! Congratulations, Alex!

Anuoluwapo Folami: Anu is an enthusiastic, motivated and hard working student.  She starts every class, whether remote or in person with a positive attitude.  She is friendly and kind to teachers and peers.  She is willing to help and quick with a compliment. Anu is a perfect choice for student of the month. Congratulations!

Meri Greene

Meridith Greene: Meridith is a wonderful young adult.  She is a mature and responsible student.  She has an excellent work ethic and attitude towards her schoolwork.  Meridith is always kind and helpful when dealing with her peers.  Her efforts in class make her a great role model for other students.  It is a pleasure to recognize Meridith as student of the month!

Sofia DiLapi: Sofia comes to class every day with a smile on her face. She is motivated, polite, and a hard worker. Sofia has a wonderful relationship with her peers and is a delight to have in class. She has a positive attitude and her teachers are so proud of dedication and determination. Keep up the great work Sofia!

Gemma Maxwell

Gemma Maxwell: Gemma is one of the most engaged and enthusiastic students I have ever had in class. She not only participates in the lessons and the virtual labs, but also uses our recipes to cook for her whole family in her free time! She is kind and genuine and possesses all of the characteristics of a successful and thoughtful human!

Grade 7

Christopher DiLapi: Whether learning remotely, or in-person, Chris always shows a polite and respectful demeanor.  Chris has a naturally inquisitive nature and is always genuinely excited to come to school and to learn.  Chris finds success because he is not afraid to ask questions and accept guidance, and as a result of his mature and hard-working attitude.  Chris pays attention and is always up for an engaging conversation with his peers and teachers.  Congratulations, Chris, on earning the recognition of Student of the Month!  Well-done!

Jillian Kyrou

Jillian Kyrou: Jillian radiates positivity wherever she goes.  Whether it is walking into the classroom with a “Hi- how is your day?” or logging off a Google Meet with a “Thank you. I hope you have a great morning,” Jillian always shows a genuine interest in and kindness towards others.  Jillian is a model student who is responsible and hardworking. She is always engaged during her classes and an active participant. An all-around excellent student and even better person, Jillian is very deserving of being December’s Student of the Month.

Ava Lane

Ava Lane: Ava comes to school everyday, ready to work and prepared for class. Ava is a hard working student, both when she is in class and remote. Ava is an active participant, always trying her hardest. She has a wonderful sense of humor, too.

Special Areas:

Gabe Pepe: Gabe is doing a wonderful job in Art class. Every day when he logs in to class he gives an enthusiastic “Hi Mrs. Pahucki” or “Heeeeey!”. He asks lots of good questions and puts 100% effort into every project. At one point, when another online student became frustrated with something on their art project it was Gabe who jumped in and re-explained it to him. He is truly a pleasure to have in class.

Smiling teen with dark hair wearing a fleece jacketThomas Patzuk: Thomas is a smart, determined, kind and considerate young man.  He is a diligent student who is a great advocate for himself, asks relevant and insightful questions, demonstrates a desire to learn, improve and gain new understandings.  Thomas is inquisitive and a wonderful participant in class.  He is always courteous and friendly, relates well to adults and his peers and sets an admirable example for others.

Jefferson Calle Carchi: Jefferson is an exceptionally hard working student who is committed to doing his best each day.  Jefferson is respectful, kind, and responsible.  He comes to class prepared, participates, and always puts forth his best effort.  His patience and perseverance is remarkable.  Congratulations to Jefferson!

Ruth Martinez: Ruth is a responsible, respectful, and hardworking student. She is an active class participant, always striving to do her best.  Keep up the great work, Ruth!

Special Areas:

Sofia Puertas: Sofia is a very talented musician and sets a wonderful example for others to follow. She shows up for class with a willingness to always do her very best in all areas of music. Sofia continues to be enthusiastic each and every day in Select Chorus and Mixed Chorus classes and is an absolute pleasure to teach.
