GIS, CJH students test positive for COVID-19

District officials were notified that a student at C. J. Hooker Middle School and a student at Goshen Intermediate School tested positive for COVID-19.

The student at C. J. Hooker Middle School was not in the building during the infectious period and does not pose a risk of exposure to others.

The student at Goshen Intermediate School was last in the building on Feb. 5. All those who may be at risk of exposure have been contacted by district staff with instruction about self-quarantine.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

Remember that we can help stop the spread by following the guidance of the Orange County Department of Health, including washing your hands with soap and water, avoiding gatherings and group activities, and staying home when you are sick.

Join me in wishing a speedy recover to all of our unwell family members.

Sincerely,

Daniel T. Connor
Superintendent of Schools
