Families: Reminder about travel-related quarantine period

Dear Goshen families,

As you know, the district will be closed Feb. 15-19 for February break. I hope you are able to use this time to relax and recharge.

As a reminder, the New York State Department of Health requires that anyone traveling to New York from a non-contiguous state may need to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival. This means that if you travel out-of-state during February break, your child(ren) may not be able to return to school until the required quarantine period has ended. Travelers may be able to “test out” of the mandatory quarantine; please refer to the NYSDOH website for more information.

We recognize the desire to be reunited with family and friends over the break, especially during these trying times; however, your continued help is necessary so that our schools can remain open for in-person instruction for as long as possible.

Please continue to follow the directives from the OCDOH and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to wash your hands, wear a mask, stay home if sick, and practice social distancing.

All questions may be directed to your building principal.

Sincerely,
Daniel T. Connor
Superintendent of Schools
