James Frees was name director of buildings and grounds after the retirement of James Riley. He began the position on Nov. 30 after working as director of facilities for the Chester United Free School District.
Beginning his new position in the midst of a pandemic hasn’t fazed Mr. Frees. “I’ve really enjoyed meeting our staff, getting to know them and learning from them,” he said. “It’s the highlight of my day.”
“Goshen has great people and I’m excited to contribute to the success of our students,” Frees said. “I believe my experience, sound judgment and decision-making will help the district meet its current and future goals for the performance of its facilities.”
Frees has a B.S. in Management Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He resides in Monroe with his wife, Claudia, and has two children: Julia, 22, a recent graduate of Fairfield University, and Collin, 10, a fourth grader at the Monroe Woodbury Central School District.
