Jan. 25: Eight test positive for COVID-19

District officials learned that eight individuals in our schools have tested positive for COVID-19.

A staff member from Goshen Intermediate School and three students (one fully remote) from Goshen High School tested positive. The infected individuals were not in the buildings during their infectious periods and do not pose a risk of exposure to employees and students.

A Food Service worker at Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School, a student from Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School, a faculty member at Goshen High School, and a school bus driver also tested positive. All individuals who may have been considered at risk of exposure have been contacted by district staff and/or the Orange County Department of Health with instructions for self-quarantine.

Please note that The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

Please remember that we can help stop the spread by following the guidance of the Orange County Department of Health, including washing your hands with soap and water, avoiding gatherings and group activities, and staying home when you are sick.

Please join me in wishing a speedy recover to all of our unwell family members.

Sincerely,

Daniel T. Connor
Superintendent of Schools
