Nov. 19: District staff member, CJH student test positive

On November 19, the Goshen Central School District was notified that C. J. Hooker Middle School student tested positive for COVID-19. In addition, a district staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

The student was in quarantine during the infectious period. Officials  at the Orange County Department of Health are confident that there was no risk of exposure to students or employees. The infected staff member does not work directly with students; OCDOH officials are confident that there was no risk of exposure for students. Any employees who may be at risk of exposure were already contacted with directions about quarantine.

Please note that The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

We continue to work closely with the Orange County Department of Health and follow their guidance on how to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your building administrators.

Please be well. Once again, please join me in wishing a speedy and full recovery to our unwell Goshen family members.

Sincerely,

Daniel Connor
Superintendent of Schools
