CJH students selected as October Students of the Month

The student of the month is:

  • Respectful – The student treats classmates, teachers and staff with respect by valuing each as an individual, respecting differences, and valuing the work that others do.
  • Responsible – The student embraces the responsibility required to maintain progress in their schoolwork and other personal goals.
  • Positive – The student contributes to the success of the school by promoting a positive school climate through their actions and words.
  • Honest – The student communicates truthfully and in a respectful way with classmates, teachers, staff and refrains from dishonesty in completing academic work.
  • Committed to success – The student strives for success in all they do and works to the best of their ability.

Grade 6

Avery Homenick-  Avery has adjusted well to the middle school;  especially since she is working remotely.  Avery shows up to all of her classes on time!  She always has a smile on her face, and she is ready to tackle any task!  She is always putting great effort into all of her assignments!  Avery is very kind and caring to her peers and teachers!  She is happy to help anyone who needs help.  Avery is very respectful and responsible!  We are very proud of you, Avery!  Keep up the great work!

Daniel Martin – Daniel has displayed excellent academic focus and effort in all his classes. He is a wonderful young adult.  Daniel is an extremely responsible student. He has excellent participation in class and his positive nature adds to our learning environment.  He is kind towards others and is an exemplary student.  It is a pleasure to recognize Daniel as student of the month!

Maxwell Hadden- Max has done a great job transitioning into middle school. That is particularly impressive with the  new hybrid model we are all adjusting to. Whether in school or working from home, Max has demonstrated responsibility and a great work ethic.  He puts his best effort into his assignments and actively participates in class discussions. Max is very respectful and steps up on a regular basis to  help his peers.  He is a pleasure to have in class and is a perfect choice for our first student of the month!

Nicholas DiLapi – Nicholas comes to school each day with a positive attitude and happy greeting for his teachers and peers.  Nicholas is focused and an active participant.  His kindness, positivity, and eagerness to learn makes him a perfect Student of the Month!

Special Areas:

Emma Costa – Emma is a full remote art student who has been exceptional this first quarter. Not only is she an excellent artist, but she is a kind and helpful student. On a day where the technology wasn’t cooperating and I was getting frustrated trying to open all the tabs I needed while trying to set up a demonstration, she unmuted her mic from home to tell me “It’s ok Mrs. Pahucki. Sip some tea and take a deep breath.” When another full remote student became frustrated on how to do something on the Chromebook and I couldn’t figure out what it looked like on his end, Emma stepped up, asked if she could present her screen and walked him through the issue. She’s an amazing kid!

Grade 7

Dalton Fortugno-Harris – Dalton has begun this seventh grade year on a positive note, which makes him stand out to all of his teachers! Dalton always displays both a friendly and pleasant demeanor, while being polite and respectful.  Whether it be online or in-person, Dalton shows how focused he is on being engaged and completing his best work.  One of Dalton’s most notable qualities is his strong work ethic.  He is extremely conscientious, and is always ready to improve.  Keep up the high standard, Dalton!  Congratulations on being selected as one of the first 2020-2021 Students of the Month!

Ariana Gazzola has already impressed her teachers with her positive attitude and responsible nature.  Ariana is always engaged during class and displays a wonderful work ethic.  Ariana’s willingness to participate and the excellent quality of her work make her a stand out student.  Ariana is respectful, polite, and shows kindness to all her peers and teachers alike.  Congrats!

Brooke Thompson – Brooke has a very positive attitude about her work and her classes. She is an active participant and always gives 110% to everything she does. Her teachers this year are so proud of her dedication and hard work.

Special Areas:

Anee Patel – Anee is a hardworking student who is dedicated to doing her best. She doesn’t hesitate to seek help when she needs it and makes every effort to communicate with her teachers. She is eager and willing to volunteer in class. I admire her motivation and determination to learn and she sets a good example for others to follow.

Grade 8

Cole Kendrick- Cole is a respectful and friendly student who always comes to class, in person and virtually, with a positive attitude and a desire to learn.  Cole is always willing to participate in discussion and is a pleasure to have in class.

Gabriel Torres – Gabriel is an intelligent, determined, kind and considerate young man.  He is respectful and completely invested in his academic success.  He relates well to adults and his peers.  Gabriel is a positive influence as he is outgoing and friendly.  He is motivated to do his best and sets an admirable example.

Alexia Gonsalez – Alexia is a hardworking student.  She is an active participant in all of her classes.   Her motivation and effort is apparent to all of her teachers.  Keep up the great work, Alexia!

Special Areas:

Alexander Greene – Alex is a very talented musician and sets a great example for others to follow. He shows up for class with a smile on his face and a willingness to always do his very best. Alex goes above and beyond what is asked of him in class.
