Dear Gladiator Nation,
Needless to say, the past couple of weeks have been like no other, and although this pandemic has had far-reaching effects beyond our community, our athletic and school programs have been dramatically affected.
At a time when our collective excitement was building about another spring season, we, along with the rest of the county and country, were forced to take the unfortunate but necessary steps to protect our student-athletes, coaches, and community.
While we sympathize with our athletes’ sudden loss of opportunity to participate in the sport they love, our highest priority will always be their safety. Thus, in this fluid situation, we will continue to follow the guidelines provided by our state and local officials. We remain hopeful that in the near future, our Gladiators will return to action this spring season.
Please know, once we do return for a shortened spring season, one of our highest priorities will be maximizing the number of competitions for our athletes. As of now, Goshen Athletics will resume its normal operations on Tuesday, April 14, when Goshen Schools are set to reopen. Games, matches,
and competitions have been cleared to resume in Orange County on May 1.
Until then, for the well-being of our community, Goshen’s schools and athletic facilities remain closed to the public.
So, stay safe, stay strong and stay together. Take care of yourself and each other. When the time is right, the Goshen Gladiators will play a major role in our community’s return to normalcy. Our coaches and teachers are all eager to pick up where they left off.
If there is anything, anything at all, we can do to assist you and your family, please do not hesitate to let us know. As always, go, Gladiators!
