District officials have set a timeline to appoint a new Goshen High School principal with a tentative start date this summer.
Interim Principal Thomas Heinzelman, who has served in the position since October 2018, has decided not to return to the position next year.
A search is now underway for a permanent replacement. Applications are now being accepted and interviews will take place in April. The Board of Education plans to appoint a new principal in May with a start date of mid-July.
Heinzelman was appointed interim high school principal after the resignation of Robert McKiernan in the fall of 2018. He previously served as the high school’s interim principal/athletic director in 2011 to 2013.
“We are grateful for Mr. Heinzelman’s dedication to the district and the outstanding work he’s accomplished during his time here,” said Superintendent Daniel Connor. “As a proud Goshen graduate, Mr. Heinzelman’s deep sense of pride is evident in all that he does, and is a huge advocate of our students, employees and community. He will be greatly missed.”
