GHS to offer college-credit Sport Management course this spring

Beginning this spring, Goshen High School students will be able to take college-credit bearing courses through Syracuse University.

Syracuse University Project Advance (SUPA) gives students an opportunity to experience the rigor of a college course while still in high school. It prepares students for the next level by helping them understand the expectations and challenges of college academics.

The course, Sport Management, is an introductory course that provides an overview of the sport industry through an examination of problems and issues faced by contemporary sport managers. Unique characteristics of sport, social and ethical responsibilities of sport managers, and career options will be discussed.

Business Education Teacher Danielle Linguanti will teach the course; she was trained by Dr. Gina Pauline, Director, Sport Management at David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. This course is offered as part of business-related courses offered at the high school: Introduction to Business, Business Computer Applications, Personal Finance, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, and Career Internship.
