CJH students named Students of the Month for May

Principal Dr. William Rolon and Assistant Principal Heather Carman are proud to announce the May Students of the Month at C. J. Hooker Middle School

The student of the month is:

  • Respectful – The student treats classmates, teachers and staff with respect by valuing each as an individual, respecting differences, and valuing the work that others do.
  • Responsible – The student embraces the responsibility required to maintain progress in their schoolwork and other personal goals.
  • Positive – The student contributes to the success of the school by promoting a positive school climate through their actions and words.
  • Honest – The student communicates truthfully and in a respectful way with classmates, teachers, staff and refrains from dishonesty in completing academic work.
  • Committed to success – The student strives for success in all they do and works to the best of their ability.

Grade 6

Pavan Rampam

Pavan is an outstanding young adult.  He is an excellent student. He has great class participation and is always helpful to other students.  Pavan is always kind and friendly to everyone he interacts with. His positive nature adds to our learning environment and he is a wonderful role model for others to follow.  It is a pleasure to recognize Pavan as student of the month!

Colin Butryn

Colin has worked hard throughout the year to bring up his grades.  Colin is always respectful and kind to others. He is always willing to help out his peers and his teachers.  Colin, we are proud of you, and the growth you have made throughout the year! You are a role model to your peers!

Eric Orzell

Since entering the sixth grade, Eric has displayed continuous growth. Eric is an enthusiastic learner and displays good citizenship by assisting and encouraging his peers. Eric also does a great job of reminding his peers about important upcoming events and activities so that everyone stays involved. Eric is passionate about taking part in STEM activities in and out of school and happily shares his experiences with his peers. In short, Eric is a wonderful nomination for this honor.

Amelie McDonnell

Amelie is a respectful young lady with a positive attitude.  She is kind and courteous to her classmates and teachers and is a willing helper in the classroom. Although she is somewhat quiet, she is always ready with a smile and a friendly greeting.  She is a pleasure to have in class. Congratulations on being chosen as student of the month!

Special Areas:

Hope Miller

Hope is an enthusiastic student with a positive attitude. She is a very talented member of our chorus who helps us out with her guitar playing and beautiful singing voice. I admire how respectful she is of others and how she serves as a great role model for the students.

Grade 7

Allison O’Donnell

This year, Allie has proven herself to be  polite and responsible young lady. One specific example is when Allie supported a new student as they began to acclimate to C.J. Hooker.  Allison works well both independently, and with peers and shows active and enthusiastic class participation. Academically, Allie routinely goes above and beyond in order to meet her goals and it is that diligence which will serve her well as she moves on to the 8th grade!  Allie serves as a noteworthy peer role model to her fellow teammates. Congratulations, Allie, on earning the title of one of May’s Student of the Month!

Vaughn Blough

Vaughn is an exceptionally kind-hearted and sweet young man.  A true gentleman, Vaughn always has a smile and hello for others.  He is polite and considerate of both his peers and teachers. Although not the most outspoken, Vaughn leads by example though his behaviors and positive attitude.  A very bright young man, he has continued to grow throughout the year. Congrats Vaughn!

Nathan Dershem

Nathan is a caring young man, who loves socializing with his peers. He greets everyone he sees with a big smile and a cheerful good morning.  Nathan works hard in the classroom and is always encouraging his peers to do well. He has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to sports and mascots. The progress he has made since entering the middle school is tremendous. We’re all so proud of him! Keep up the good work!

Ava DiGrandi

Ava is a wonderful artist. She is very detail oriented and is always on task putting in the maximum amount of effort. She recently completed a beautifully done pen and ink drawing of a spotted horse.

Grade 8

Mia Colangelo

Mia is a conscientious, patient and caring young lady.  She is always smiley, polite, responsible and exceptionally attentive. She is well mannered and appropriately respectful.  Mia is a well rounded student who is gracious in her interactions between adults and peers alike. She is committed to excellence in her school work and sets a positive example for other students.  She is a quiet leader, whose strong character is a model for her peers. All of these characteristics will allow Mia to achieve anything on which she sets her heart and mind.

Lindsay Keane

Lindsay is an honest, patient, and responsible student who always strives to do her best.  She comes to class with a positive attitude and diligently works to be successful each day.  Lindsay never hesitates to work with her peers and treats her teachers and classmates with kindness and respect.  Congratulations to Lindsay!

Lukas Rogers

It is with great pleasure that we nominate Lukas Rogers for the Student of the Month Award.  Lukas has shown tremendous growth as a student this year and especially this past quarter. Lukas has taken on new class challenges with positivity and excitement and has remained an active participant in his classes.  We are all very proud of all his accomplishments.

Ben Thurtle

Ben is extremely talented and sets a wonderful example for others to follow during Select Chorus. He is a responsible student who always comes to class with a positive and respectful manner. Ben demonstrates a willingness to learn and takes constructive criticism and applies it to better his overall performance. He is an absolute pleasure to teach!
