Grades 3-8 Parents: Please view a letter about state assessments

Dear Goshen Parents and Guardians,

Today, students in grades 3-8 participated in the second day of the 2018-19 New York State English Language Arts Assessment.  This was a computer based assessment. In response to the many technical difficulties experienced throughout the state today, the New York State Education Department (NYSED) has designated tomorrow, Wednesday, April 3, 2019 as a non-testing day.  This will allow NYSED to work collaboratively with Questar to resolve the issues reported today. We plan to resume testing on Thursday, April 4, 2019, as needed. The testing window has been extended to Friday, April 12, 2019.

Please note that the problems experienced were directly related to Questar Assessment. They were not a result of technological concerns within the Goshen Central School District.

If you should have any questions or concerns regarding assessments, please contact your building administrator at your earliest convenience.

Respectfully,
Jason Carter
Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, Personnel & Technology
