December Students of the Month are committed, respectful

C. J. Hooker Middle School Principal Dr. William Rolon is proud to announce the December Students of the Month.

The student of the month is:

  • Respectful – The student treats classmates, teachers and staff with respect by valuing each as an individual, respecting differences, and valuing the work that others do.
  • Responsible – The student embraces the responsibility required to maintain progress in their schoolwork and other personal goals.
  • Positive – The student contributes to the success of the school by promoting a positive school climate through their actions and words.
  • Honest – The student communicates truthfully and in a respectful way with classmates, teachers, staff and refrains from dishonesty in completing academic work.
  • Committed to success – The student strives for success in all they do and works to the best of their ability.

Grade 6

It is a pleasure to nominate Hunter Villarreal for Student of the Month. Hunter comes to every class prepared and ready to work. He is always tuned into learning, and asking thought provoking questions. Hunter is very polite and kind to his peers and teachers. He is a leader amongst his peers! His smile brightens everyone’s day! Congratulations!

Alexandra Fife is a hard-working, dependable, and responsible young lady who obviously cares about doing well in school.  She is always prepared and always works up to her potential. Alexandra is respectful and kind towards others and helps students as well as teachers without being asked.  She is a pleasure to have in class and a perfect candidate for student of the month.

Cole Florio is an outstanding young adult. He is kind towards other students and always willing to help his peers. He has a great personality and is a pleasure to have in class. He is intelligent and inquisitive. It is a privilege to recognize Cole as student of the month.

Nicholas LaBarbera is a responsible, motivated, and hardworking student. He brings a positive attitude to the classroom and is always happy to lend a helping hand. Nicky is a student-athlete, whose work ethic speaks for itself. He is going to be a great hockey player one day.

Special Areas: Emma Rodriguez is an enthusiastic and motivated student. She’s engaged in her art work and does all she can to do her best.  Emma asks thoughtful questions during discussions. She is always engaged. Her responses are useful for everyone in the classroom.  She is quick to offer a helping hand to others. Emma is a very thoughtful and caring individual and really adds positivity to the class..

Grade 7

Always prepared and ready to follow directions, Luka Zacharkevics has consistently shown a notable sense of responsibility. Luka’s maturity is evident as he works well, both independently and with peers.  Never afraid to ask questions, he has shown a commitment to kindness and positivity, making him a great role model for his fellow students.  Congratulations, Luk,a on earning the title of December’s Student of the Month!

Axel Jackson is a exceptional young man who holds himself to the highest standards in everything he does.  Axel displays a maturity beyond his years that is evident in how he carries himself, as well as his great sense of humor.  He consistently demonstrates kindness and respect to both peers and school staff. Axel’s inquisitive mind, ability to make meaningful connections, and attention to detail make him an invaluable part of his classes and an excellent role model.  Congrats and keep up the awesome work Axel!

Everyday, Damaris Aguirre displays a polite and respectful demeanor to both her teachers and peers. She also demonstrates a strong work ethic in her desire to do well in all of her classes. Damaris is always kind, friendly, and considerate of those around her.  Congratulations Damaris on achieving Student of the Month for December 2018!

Special Areas: Sophia Gannon has a beautiful singing voice and sets a great example for others to follow. She shows up for class with a smile on her face and a willingness to always do her best. Sophia goes above and beyond what is asked of her in class as she also brings in her ukulele to rehearsals to accompany the chorus.

Grade 8

Jayden White is an intelligent, determined, kind and considerate young man.  He is mature beyond his years as he is always appropriate, both in and out of the classroom, and relates well to adults and his peers.  Jayden is a positive influence and looks out for the best interests of others. He is motivated to do his best and seeks help when needed.  Jayden is a quiet leader and sets an admirable example.

We are happy to nominate Ethan Gamma for student of the month.  Ethan always comes to class with a positive attitude and a desire to learn.  He works hard, contributes to classroom discussions, and works well with his peers.  Ethan is polite, respectful, and always kind to others. Congratulations to Ethan!

Hannah McKenna is a hardworking and conscientious student. She has intrinsic desire to do well and always puts forth her best efforts. She is polite and respectful, and always strives to do her best. Keep up the great work, Hannah!

Special Areas: Madison Allen is a constant example of leadership and care. She always offers to do more in spite of what her classmates are doing! She is responsible, respectful, and very deserving of this honor!
