Seventh and eighth-grade students who made the C.J. Hooker Middle School Honor Roll for all four quarters of the prior school year were treated to a special barbecue luncheon today, Oct., 4, during their regular lunch periods.

Principal William “The Gladiator Grillmaster” Rolon prepared hamburgers and hot dogs for the honored guests, who then filled their plates and dined under an outdoor tent.

“I’m so proud of the academic accomplishments of these students, as I know their parents and family members are, ” Rolon said. “We’ve been recognizing their Honor Roll achievements by hosting a special barbecue for them for the last few years.¬† We hope this luncheon reinforces to them the pride we have in their accomplishments.”
