Changes at GHS during the 2018-19 school year

Goshen High School families, please take note of the following adjustments to be aware of before the start of the 2018-19 school year.

New School Schedule

Due to new New York State Education Department guidelines, all secondary students are required to have a minimum of 990 hours of instruction in each school year.  To satisfy this new requirement, our school day will begin with Period 1 at 7:27 a.m. and will conclude at 2:17 p.m. All instructional periods have been increased from 41 minutes to 42 minutes in length.

Early Sign Out Procedures

All students with written permission for an early dismissal will exit our temporary main entrance.  All eleventh- and twelfth-grade students must sign out at the greeter’s station. All ninth- and tenth-grade students must be signed out by a parent at the greeter’s station inside the temporary main entrance.

Accessible Entry Points for Individuals with Physical Disabilities

Any individuals with physical disabilities may enter the high school through the accessible entry point in the rear of the building.  Accessible parking is also available in the rear parking lot.

Construction Workers

During this construction period, there will be contractors and subcontractors on site during our school day.  All contractors and subcontractors have been and will consistently be reminded that they are prohibited from interacting with students or staff members of Goshen High School.  Any student or staff member should report any violation of this expectation to a school administrator.
