April Students of the Month are respectful, honest

Principal William Rolon and Assistant Principal Heather Carman are pleased to announce the April Students of the Month at C. J. Hooker Middle School.

The student of the month is:

  • Respectful – The student treats classmates, teachers and staff with respect by valuing each as an individual, respecting differences, and valuing the work that others do.
  • Responsible – The student embraces the responsibility required to maintain progress in their schoolwork and other personal goals.
  • Positive – The student contributes to the success of the school by promoting a positive school climate through their actions and words.
  • Honest – The student communicates truthfully and in a respectful way with classmates, teachers, staff and refrains from dishonesty in completing academic work.
  • Committed to success – The student strives for success in all they do and works to the best of their ability.

Grade 6

Jacob Cortes has displayed excellent academic focus and effort throughout the school year. He is a wonderful young adult.  Jacob is an extremely responsible student. He is kind towards others, thoughtful, and responsible. It is a pleasure to recognize Jacob as student of the month!

Hana Sandoval is a pleasure to have in class.  She is a hardworking and responsible young lady who always takes the appropriate steps to do her best.  She comes to class prepared and is an active participant. She is respectful, thoughtful and kind. All of these qualities make Hana a great candidate for student of the month.

Oliver Stroka comes to school with a positive attitude and a smile on his face!  Even though he has had some ups and downs last quarter, he pulled himself together and strived for excellence.   Oliver is always kind and respectful to his peers and his teachers. Oliver is a true leader, and we are honored to recognize him as student of the month!

Isis Graham is an excellent choice for student of the month. She is hardworking and always tries to do her best. Isis’ smile can light up a room and her classmates appreciate her positivity.

Special Areas:

Gianna Schiaffo is a motivated and intelligent young lady who always sets out to do the right thing. She is  a very kind and cooperative student within our class and always has a smile on her face! I had Gianna for the 3rd quarter and her presence is definitely missed! I have no doubt that Gianna could accomplish anything she puts her mind to!

Grade 7

Caleb Ayau is a quiet and respectful young man.  His most notable qualities in class are his ability to be prepared and his studious effort.  Caleb is an active participant in class and he makes it a point to follow along and remain on task, helping his peers to do the same.  Caleb shines in a small group setting, as his kind, and polite nature are clearly evident. Congratulations, Caleb and keep up the great job!

Eesha Ramanathan displays excellence in all her endeavors.  She is a self- motivated learner who holds herself to very high academic standards.  In addition to her success in the classroom, Eesha is a valued member of the Science Olympiad team and is an All County violinist.   Eesha is humble, kind, and hard-working. She arrives each day with a smile on her face and a positive attitude that makes her an excellent role model for her peers.  Congrats Eesha! You are so deserving of this recognition.

Stephanie Fixsen is a bright, energetic and insightful student who shares her love of learning with her peers, especially the area of science.  Stephanie has done an amazing job this year staying positive and working hard. She is helpful, kind and a pleasure to have in class.

Special Areas:

Gianna Gallo has a great work ethic and is doing a fine job on her airplane in Tech. She is respectful to everyone and is a great role model for others. She is very deserving of this honor.

Grade 8

Frances Ignacio is a hard working, ambitious, highly capable and motivated student who strives for excellence.  She is a genuine, sincere, and caring young woman who looks out for the welfare of others. Though soft spoken, she is a great advocate for herself and demonstrates herself to be passionate about anything for which she has a strong conviction.

Kaitlyn Byrne is an honest, kind, and diligent student.  Kaitlyn comes to class with a positive attitude each day and is always respectful to her teachers and fellow classmates.  She is always willing to lend a helping hand in class and will work with any of her classmates without hesitation Congratulations, Kaitlyn!

Kiley Howell is a diligent and hardworking student.  She is highly motivated to succeed and always gives her best efforts in everything that she does.  She is helpful to her peers and serves as a positive role model to others. Keep up the great work, Kiley!

Special Areas:

Julianna Patane is in the Advanced Studio Art class. This year she won a Silver Award and an Honorable Mention for Scholastic Arts. She also competed in the Olympics of the Visual arts in the Sculpture category. She spent a lot of time constructing the more than 800 paper rolls needed for the polar bear sculpture. Julianna loves art and makes some amazing spray paint creations at home. She’s responsible, a hard worker, and well respected by both teachers and students.
