UPDATE: Goshen ending lockout, no threat says law enforcement

UPDATE: Law enforcement has communicated with district officials that their investigation found that there was never any threat to Chester Academy. The district activated its safety procedures as a precautionary measure. Thank you for your cooperation.

DISMISSAL UPDATE: The lockout was lifted at 2:30 p.m. Dismissal times/bus runs will be delayed up to 30 minutes due to the lockout. After-school activities will still take place. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

At 1:40 p.m., all of our schools enacted their lockout procedures based on information about a potential active shooter at another school district.

There was no threat made to any of our schools and we do not believe that our students are in any danger; however, the decision to enact the lockout is to provide an abundance of caution and ensure the safety of our students and employees.

As more information becomes available, we will share it with our parents and community.

Dismissal for all buildings will be 20 minutes behind schedule this afternoon due to the lockout. Please expect your child to arrive at his or her bus stop app. 20 minutes later than usual.
