CJH Principal names February Students of the Month

Principal William Rolon and Assistant Principal Heather Carman are proud to announce the February Students of the Month at C. J. Hooker Middle School.

The student of the month is:

  • Respectful – The student treats classmates, teachers and staff with respect by valuing each as an individual, respecting differences, and valuing the work that others do.
  • Responsible – The student embraces the responsibility required to maintain progress in their schoolwork and other personal goals.
  • Positive – The student contributes to the success of the school by promoting a positive school climate through their actions and words.
  • Honest – The student communicates truthfully and in a respectful way with classmates, teachers, staff and refrains from dishonesty in completing academic work.
  • Committed to success – The student strives for success in all they do and works to the best of their ability.

Grade 6

Jake Morino is always very kind and helpful to his peers and his teachers!  In his classes, he works hard and gives his best effort always.  Jake is a true leader!  He is excellent at teamwork!  He knows how to make good decisions, and stay positive!

Anaya Singh is very responsible student who works hard and always strives to do her best. In addition, she is respectful and kind to her peers and her teachers.  She demonstrates a positive attitude both in and out classroom. She is a lovely young lady, a pleasure to teach and great role model.

Gianna Ratuis  is a serious student with an outstanding work ethic. She has an kind and thoughtful personality that is appreciated by her teachers and fellow classmates. Her mature and responsible nature serve as an excellent example for her peers.  It is a pleasure to recognize Gianna as student of the month!

Emma Flynn is a responsible sixth grade student with many great qualities.  She completes her homework on time for all her classes and is respectful and kind to all her classmates and teachers.  She always follows class rules and arrives on time to all of her classes ready to learn.  Emma is a model student!  Keep up the good work Emma!

Special Areas: Landry Masters always has a smile on his face and a greeting for you.  He is a student that helps others at his table in Library Skills and is always participating in the discussion and providing his opinions on the current topic.  He assists with collecting folders, moving Chromebooks, etc. at the end of class.  Landry is always willing to talk about books he has read or is currently reading.  He is outgoing, friendly and includes everyone.  He constantly brings a smile to my face when I see him.

Grade 7

Jason Barnes has shown a consistently polite and courteous nature this academic year.  Jason possess a quiet confidence, but is participative when it counts! He models active listening, and has a strong work ethic day in and day out. It is obvious that Jason is invested in his own progress, and is self-motivated to do his very best work!  Great job Jason, and congratulations on being selected as one of February’s Student of the Month 2018!

Cora Pahucki can easily be described as respectful and responsible and all of the other attributes required to be considered for Student of the Month.  However, she is also so much more!  Cora is a patient friend, a talented artist, a dependable member of the Science Olympiad Team, a cooperative student, and a considerate classmate.  Great job, Cora!  Keep up the excellent work!

James Millett has been very helpful in his classes. He has taken it upon himself to help his teachers by handing out Chromebooks and textbooks. He comes in every day and greets his fellow students by name. James has been actively participating in his classes and is being an active member of the classroom.

Special Areas: Liam Fuentes is a very respectful young man. He is always prepared and on top of what needs to be done. This shows in his work. He recently set the quarter record for the highest grade on his airplane. He is cooperative and considerate of others making him a true pleasure to have in class.

Grade 8

Daniel Rudolph is a kind, respectful, honest, good-natured, and diligent student.  He is always willing to work with others and lend a helping hand in the classroom.  Danny comes to class prepared and with a positive attitude each day.  He is a friend to all and serves as a great role model for others.  Congratulations to Danny for receiving Student of the Month.

Jake DiGiugno is committed to excellence.  He is respectful, empathetic and always appropriate.  He knows how to balance fun with friends while being cooperative with adults.  He provides an elevated caliber of writing that includes rich details, complex structures, and demonstrates a high level of understanding.  He is an ambitious, meticulous and curious student who always strives to be his best.  He is encouraging of others and a terrific addition to all of his classes.

Melisa Aguilar ​is a very respectful young woman who always tries her best. Due to all her hard work, she has made a tremendous amount of progress this year. Melisa is eager to learn and always follows directions. She is compassionate, friendly and enjoys helping others.

Special Areas: Isabella Obligado is an enthusiastic student with a positive attitude. She is a very talented member of our chorus. I admire how respectful she is of others and how she serves as a great role model for the students in class.
