The Goshen Central School District will host school safety drills for faculty and staff members on two separate days in April and May. There will be an early dismissal for some students on these days.
- On Friday, April 6, employees from C. J. Hooker Middle School and Goshen High School will participate in the school safety training. GHS students will dismiss at 12:50 p.m.; CJH students will dismiss at 1:05 p.m. Elementary and intermediate students will have a full day of school.
- On Friday, May 18, employees from Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School and Goshen Intermediate School will participate in the school safety training at Goshen Intermediate School. GIS students will dismiss at 12:50 p.m.; SAS students will dismiss at 1:05 p.m. Middle and high school students will have a full day of school.
The employee school safety drills will be conducted by the Village of Goshen Police Department. District employees routinely practice lockdown drills and lockout drills in case of an intruder or outside threat, however, this training will allow them to work side-by-side with the local police department, as they would in the instance of an emergency situation.
Non-building district employees, such as bus drivers and grounds workers, will be provided with a separate training; the date is to be determined.
