The members of the C. J. Hooker Middle School Leo Club recently sponsored a school-wide food drive. More than 1,100 food items were collected and donated to the food pantry at Goshen Intermediate School, which will benefit the community through the district’s Youth Ending Hunger Club.

Homeroom classes competed against one another to see who could collect the most food items. The winning homeroom won breakfast from Dunkin Donuts.

The top three homerooms are:

  • First place: Anthony Monti’s homeroom with 253 food items
  • Second place: Stephen Joyce’s homeroom with 228 food items
  • Third place: Maggi Ackert’s homeroom with 148 food items

At the drive’s conclusion, the Leo Club was joined by members of Student Government to collect and count the donations.
