District to hire interim to replace retiring assistant superintendent

District officials plan to hire an interim to fill the position of Assistant Superintendent Robert Miller, who will retire effective April 1. The interim will serve in the position until a permanent replacement is found.

Over the next few weeks, the superintendent of schools and an interview committee will begin interviewing a pool of approximately 20 candidates, with the goal of making their candidate recommendation to the Board of Education in early March.

“Mr. Miller has done an extraordinary job managing the district’s financial affairs, and his replacement will have some big shoes to fill,” said Superintendent Daniel Connor. “However, I am confident that we will find an excellent replacement who will continue to keep the district on solid financial ground.”

The district plans to appoint a permanent assistant superintendent for business within the next few months, with an anticipated start date of July 1. More information will be shared with the community as it becomes available.
