SAS hosting food drive during the month of January

Dear parents and guardians,

Our school has participated in a school-wide food donation project annually for many years.  Our goal is to include the children in an activity that may help others at a time when many food pantries are bare after the holiday season.

If you wish to have your child participate in this food drive, please have him or her bring non-perishable food item(s) to school during the month of January.

Non-perishable foods such as:

  • hot and cold cereals
  • soup
  • rice
  • peanut butter
  • jelly
  • tuna
  • crackers
  • coffee
  • tea
  • dried fruit
  • canned foods
  • pasta
  • spaghetti sauces
  • baby food
  • dried or refried beans
  • taco shells, etc.

No glass items, please.

The food will be delivered to the Youth Ending Hunger Club food pantry located at the Goshen Intermediate School.  This food pantry operates 12 months each year and is run by students with the guidance and supervision of staff and parent volunteers.  Your donations will benefit people in our local community.  We hope your child will participate in an activity that embraces the spirit of cooperation and helping others.

If you are in need of food, you may contact the Youth Ending Hunger food pantry at the Goshen Intermediate School by calling 615-6500.  In addition, the Goshen Ecumenical Food pantry at the First Presbyterian Church in Goshen is open the second Saturday of each month at 9:15 a.m. and the last Thursday of the month at 6 p.m.

Very truly yours,

Dr. Gregory Voloshin, principal
Mary Kay Jankowski, school social worker
