View a letter about incident at Goshen Intermediate

Earlier today, an adult volunteer noticed three empty bullet shells fall out of a fifth grade student’s pocket during school hours. The child explained that the empty shells were from participation in target practice with his father, and he had brought them to school to show a friend.

The Goshen Police Department was notified as were the child’s parents. The police determined that there was no threat, and the student will be disciplined as deemed appropriate by district administrators.

At Goshen, we are committed to maintaining an environment of safety, security and transparency. We ask that you talk to your children about the inappropriateness of bringing such things to school and the consequences of doing so.

Thank you for your cooperation and your help in making our schools safe for everyone.
