Capital Improvement Project moving forward on schedule

District officials are pleased to announce the district’s $30.5 million capital improvement project is progressing as anticipated. The project was approved by district residents in February.

Triton Construction, the district’s construction manager, is developing a final cost estimate based on LAN’s current design. Shortly thereafter, LAN Associates, the district’s architects, will finalize the construction documents. The Board of Education will review the final project design within the next few weeks.

The district is awaiting final approval from the New York State Department of Education, which is expected in mid-January. Once approved, bid documents would be made available in the spring. The capital project will be competitively bid and if the bids are successful, the Board of Education would formally award the bid, at which time or shortly thereafter, construction would begin. This is anticipated for the end of the school year in June.

Construction is estimated to take approximately 11-16 months to complete for the entire capital project, with a 2019 completion targeted. For information about the capital project, visit the capital improvement project page.
