Grade 6

Maroon Team

  • One 2-inch durable binder
  • One 2-inch durable binder
  • Three 1-inch binders (different colors, if possible)
  • One 3-ring pencil case
  • Three durable hole punched pocket folders
  • Two hard cover marble composition books
  • Loose leaf paper (ample supply)
  • Pencils (ample supply)
  • Colored pencils (any brand – small box is fine)
  • Blue/black pens
  • Highlighter
  • Glue stick
  • Post-it Notes (small)
  • 12-15 dividers
  • Basic four-function calculator (with a square root key)
  • Earbuds (optional)
  • Reinforcements for loose leaf paper (optional)
  • Supply case or box to keep extra supplies organized in locker (optional)

Please have all supplies in class by Friday, September 8.

Purple Team

To be collected for general use by the students:

  • One Package of pencils

To be collected for student’s personal use during the year:

  • Two yellow highlighters
  • One large glue stick
  • Crayons (pkg. of 8 twistable recommended)
  • Package of Post-It notes (3 x 3)

For you to keep:

  • Three 1-inch durable binders (different colors, if possible)
  • One 2.5-inch durable binder
  • One durable pocket folder to fit into a three-ring binder
  • One marble composition notebook
  • One pencil case for three-ring binder
  • Loose leaf paper -Bring a small amount. Leave at home to restock later.
  • Pencils – Bring a few and leave the rest at home to restock later.
  • Basic four function calculator with a square root key
  • 12-15 dividers

Please have all supplies in class no later than Monday, September 11.

Yellow Team

  • One 3-inch durable binder

  • A basic 4-function calculator with a square root key

Optional:

  • 3 x 5 Index Cards

Grade 7

Gold Team

Supplies you will need for ALL CLASSES each day:

  • A full pencil case with the following items:
    • Blue, black, red and green pens
    • No. 2 pencils with erasers
    • Highlighters
    • Set of 12 colored pencils
    • Three packages of loose-leaf paper
    • Inexpensive pair of earbuds (for use with Chromebooks)

ELA:

  • One binder (and one package of dividers if it will be shared with other subjects)
  • Post-It notes
  • Index cards

Math:

  • Binder (2 inch) with pockets/or a folder
  • Pencils
  • Scientific Calculator (ti-30x iis)
  • Loose leaf paper (1 pack)

Science:

  • One 2-pocket folder OR one 1-1.5” binder with inside pocket (exclusively for science class)
  • One composition notebook
  • Index cards
  • Metal index card/binder rings

Social Studies:

  • Binder (can be part of a multi-subject binder)
  • Index cards

Spanish:

  • One 3-inch binder with vision packet
  • Set of 8 tab dividers + inserts
  • One plastic folder w/inside pocket
  • Spanish/English dictionary

French (Lewis):

  • One 1.5” inch binder (to be used exclusively for French)

Red Team

  • Scientific Calculator: TI-30x IIs (labeled with student’s name in permanent marker)
  • 2-inch three-ring Binder
  • Pens

Science:  Ms. Alarcon

  • Pens

  • One pack of highlighters (minimum of 4 different colors)
  • One pack of colored pencils  (minimum of 8 basic colors)

Social Studies:  Mr. Bennis

  • Marble composition notebook used ONLY for Social Studies
  • Pens (black or blue) and pencils
  • Notebook/pens/pencils will be needed every day in class
  • Pocket folder ONLY for Social Studies to keep returned quiz/test and worksheets

ELA:  Ms. Nardone

  • Black or blue pens and a red pen for editing

  • 3 x 5 index cards (lined or unlined, for students who prefer paper copy vocab. cards)
  • 1-inch book rings (for students who prefer paper copy vocab. cards)
  • 1.5-inch binder (for ELA only)
  • Divider tabs (write-on tabs, you’ll need enough for five sections)
  • One 2-pocket folder or a shoe box to store old work in at home

Spanish:  Ms. Ackert

French: Mr. Lewis

  • Pens (black or blue ink) and pencils

French: Mr. Rivière

  • Set of 12 coloring pencils (to be left in class)
  • One full pencil case with 1 blue, black, red, and green pen, plus pencil and eraser (the pencil case must be brought every day to class, failure to do so will result in a 0 for participation for that day)
  • Two standard composition notebooks to be left in class for the school year for drafts and practice
  • No need for folder or binder, students will be provided with a handbook and folder for the entirety of materials needed for the year

Grade 8

Blue Team

ELA:

  • Pens (standard blue or black ink for class work; red, green, or purple for editing)
  • One 1.5-inch three-ring binder exclusively for English
  • Four packages of index cards (3 x 5)
  • One package of dividers (five tabs)
  • Four pocket folders
  • One marble notebook
  • English dictionary (or online equivalent) to use at home

Science 8:

  • One Marble Notebook

Regents Earth Science:

  • Review books listed below. Can be purchased at most book stores and easily found online:
    • Barron’s Regents Exams and Answers Earth Science by Edward J. Denecke Jr. M.A. (small red paperback)
    • Let’s Review Earth Science: The Physical Setting by Edward J. Denecke, Jr. M.A. (larger blue paperback)

Social Studies:

  • Composition notebook
  • Folder
  • Pens & Pencils
  • Highlighters

Math:

  • Notebook – marble composition preferred
  • Pencils & highlighters
  • Folder or section of binder
  • Calculators:
    • Math 8 – scientific calculator (the one you had last year will be fine – if getting a new one: TI-30 series)
    • Algebra I (accelerated class only) – graphing calculator – Texas Instrument TI84 or TI83 Plus. (You don’t need calculator immediately; watch for them to go on sale)

French:

  • Set of 12 coloring pencils (to be left in class)
  • One full pencil case with 1 blue, black, red, and green pen, plus pencil and eraser (the pencil case must be brought every day to class, failure to do so will result in a 0 for participation for that day)
  • Two standard composition notebooks (to be left in class for the school year for drafts and practice

Spanish:

Green Team

All Classes:

  • Blue or black ink pens

  • Different colored highlighters (at least two)

ELA:

  • 2-3 inch 3-ring binder OR a section in a larger binder
  • At least 5 dividers to be placed in notebook
  • 500 3 x 5 index cards (plain or color)
  • Roughly 500 Post-its, 3 x 3 or smaller
  • Highlighters (pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple if possible)

Math:

  • Notebook-A five-subject spiral notebook is recommended because you will need a great deal of paper and the pages tend to stay in the notebook better in a spiral. Other options: One 1-inch binder OR a section in a larger zipper-type binder
  • Math 8 Students: Scientific calculator (NOT a graphing calculator)
  • Algebra I students may purchase a graphing calculator (TI 83 or 84), but are not required to bring it to school.  One will be available during class.

Physical Science:

  • One 1-inch three-ring binder or a section in a larger binder
  • 100 3 x 5 index cards
  • Larger size (8½ x 11) one-subject college-ruled spiral notebook with minimum of 100 pages. Regular smaller sized notebooks are not ideal.
  • Scientific calculator (used for both Math and Science)

Biology (The Living Environment):

  • One 1-inch 3-ring binder or a section in a larger binder
  • 100 3 x 5 index cards
  • Two pocket folders WITH clips

Social Studies:

  • One 1-inch 3-ring binder used only for Social Studies
  • Three dividers to be placed in notebook
  • One package of colored pencils (will be needed at home for homework assignments)
  • One two-pocket folder to be placed in binder or a pocket in the binder

Spanish:

  • One 1.5-inch 3-ring binder (separate binder preferred)

French:

  • Set of 12 coloring pencils (to be left in class)
  • One full pencil case with 1 blue, black, red, and green pen, plus pencil and eraser (the pencil case must be brought every day to class, failure to do so will result in a 0 for participation for that day)
