
Several Goshen Intermediate School students were named winners in the 30th Annual Countywide Substance Abuse Prevention Poster Contest sponsored by Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Council of Orange County (ADAC).
Veronica Donohue placed first in the grades 4-6 category. Keara McCarty and Mehri Ghezel-Ayagh placed first and second, consecutively, in the grades 1-3 category. Several classmates received honorable mentions.
This year’s theme is “You Only Have One Life, Live it Alcohol and Drug Free!” The students created their posters under the direction of Art Teacher Robert Hoover.
There were approximately 1,100 entries throughout the county. The winners were recognized at an awards ceremony at SUNY Orange in Newburgh.
