This week’s Goshen Gladiator Student-Athletes of the Week are Senior Lacrosse stars Zack Cole and Jake Cassel.
The Boys Varsity Lacrosse team is having the most successful year in the history of the program. The Gladiators are currently 12-1 overall, 6-0 in division, and have been an honorable mention in the NYS rankings all season. After defeating New Paltz on May15th, they just clinched the first boys’ lacrosse Division Title in school history.
Senior Zack Cole has been a starter for the Gladiators since he was a freshman. Zack is one of three long poles that have been nothing short of spectacular this season, with opponents averaging less than 4 goals per game. He starting playing lacrosse as a 5th grader for the Goshen Youth Lacrosse Club. He was also a three year member of the Varsity Football Team.
Zack plans to continue his education at Morrisville State and major in Residential Construction.
Senior Jake Cassel has also been a starter for the Gladiators since he was a freshman and Captain for the past three seasons. On May 15th, the lacrosse team clinched their first Division Title in school history, a game in which Jake scored his 100th career goal. Jake also was a three year member of the Varsity Football Team.
Jake will continue his lacrosse career at Morrisville State and major in Environmental Science.
