This week’s Goshen Gladiator Student-Athletes of the Week are varsity golfers Brandon Fuentes, Olivia Klugman, and Cassidy Lucas.

Senior Brandon Fuentes has been a member of the varsity golf team since he was a freshman. He has been a part of the 2014 and 2016 Division III championship teams. Brandon has brought his average down from 46 last season to 44 this season. Coach Tether describes Brandon as “a model student and co-captain” and credits his improvement to year round indoor and outdoor training. Brandon’s for this season is to qualify for OCIAA’s and the Section IX tournament, as well as winning another Division III Team title for the Gladiators. Brandon is also a member of the Leo Club. He plans on attending Hartford University and majoring in Architecture in the fall.

Sophomore Co-Captain Olivia Klugman has been one of the top golfers in Section IX the past three seasons. She is a two-time Division Team Champion (2015, 2016) and was a NYS Championship qualifier last year. This season she is averaging a 45 and shot a low round of 41 vs. Port Jervis. Olivia is also a member of the varsity swim team and the Mock Trial Team that just won the County Championship. She also plays the viola in the school orchestra.

Senior Co-Captain Cassidy Lucas has been a member of the varsity golf team since she was a freshman. She has been a part of our Division Championship teams the past two years and is motivated to win a third this season. Cassidy has been shooting in the low 50s consistently all season. Her best round was a 50 early this season against Port Jervis. Cassidy has also been a member of our Cross Country team for two years. She is also member of the National Honor Society since her junior year. Cassidy will be attending Manhattan College and majoring in Chemical Engineering.
